Daniel took me to Scherer park, which was unknown name of park to me until Daniel told me the name of the park.
From Daniel's neighbour to this park, I bang my head with a light pole. When going to the park with Juan, he scans objects that may across me, but Daniel has left everything on my responsibility... I ended up finding it by myself. I learn everything in the hardest possible way!
When we arrived at Scherer park, Daniel gave me a big surprise...
Don't worry about any obstacles or prople walking by, walk as fast as you can. I will stop you if necessary. Trust me.
Daniel said he will scan for any objects or passer-bys, and make me walk fast?
I thought my dream comes true, as I always dreamt since I lost my vision that I want to walk like a mad man, worry nothing about what comes ahead!
Then, I started walking... fast!
At the same time, Daniel started clicking his tongue madly, scanning anything is ahead of me!
I hope Steve the cameraman has shot the footage from the scene!
This is the first and only experience for me to walk without worrying about anything, but I also realised that I suppose to be able to walk this fast if I use echolocation effectively!
I believe Daniel wanted to show me how much I am capable if I acquire his echolocation skills and make a good use of it!
If I get better at echolocating things, I may soon ride a bicycle?
フアンといつも来ている公演。今日はダニエルと一緒です。
ただ、公演に着くまでの間に、やらかしてしまいました！
歩道に立っている街灯の柱に、頭をぶつけてしまいました！
今まではフアンが前もって街灯の存在を教えてくれていたのですが、ダニエルはそんな甘やかす事はしない。
ダニエルは、「怪我をするのは当たり前。怪我を恐れていては、何も出来ない」という精神をお持ちのようで、「勉強になったね。エコロケーションを頑張るだけじゃなく、白杖の使い方も慣れていこうね」と、ポジティブな返答。
ま、彼は盲人なので、怪我の具合は分からないでしょうけど。
ちなみに、怪我は無し。通行人が、「大丈夫＞」と声をかけてくれましたが、「いつものことだから」と返事をしてしまった自分。
こういうことにならないように、エコロケーションを身に着けるべく、頑張ります！
さて、公園に着きました。
そこでダニエルが言ったのは、「エコロケーションとか歩行者などを全く気にせず、とにかく全力で歩け」という指示。「障害物や人などは、僕が見つけるから、止まれって言うまで全速力で歩いて。大丈夫、信用して。」とのこと。
失明してから、私の心の中では、何も恐れることも無く、とにかく全力で走りたい」と思っていたので、ダニエルを信用して、全力で歩くことにしました。
スタートを切って、全速力で歩く自分の横で、これまた全速力で歩きながら、舌打ちをバンバン繰り出すダニエル。カメラマンのスティーブが、このシーンの映像をきちんと取ってくれたかは分かりませんが、撮れていたら、きっとすごいだろうな、と思います。
全速力で歩いた後、何とも言えない達成感を感じました。このようなチャンスをくれたダニエルに感謝です。
結局、何もぶつからず、転ばずに歩けました。
ということは、エコロケーションを使えれば、一人でも早歩きができるって事？
もしかしたら、ダニエルはエコロケーションで「出来ないと思ったことが出来る」と言うのを示したかったのかもしれません。
この速度で舌打ちをしながら物を見分けることが出来れば、エコロケーション（反響定位）を利用して自転車にも乗れる！そんな気がしてきました。
この後、近くでチリンチリンと言う音が。ダニエルが大声を上げて、その音を呼び止めます。
どうやら、アイスキャンディー売りのおじさんのようで、す。
ここで、ダニエルにアイスキャンディーをおごってもらいました。
それにしても、ダニエルはいろんな意味で聴覚が優れていますねー
