I called a cab, saying I am blind and I need a driver to come up at the door, as Daniel told me to do.
The point is, never forget to tell the dispatcher I am blind; otherwise, the cab driver may be waiting inside the cab, or what is worse, he would drive pass the place!
ダニエルを見送った後、今度は私が家を出る番です。
タクシーを呼んで、戸締りをします。
タクシーを呼ぶとき、「視覚障害者なので、ドア口まで来てください」というのがミソ。
こうすることで、タクシーの運転手が、ドア口まで来てくれます。
しかも、どこどこのタクシーのだれだれです。と言ってくれるので、知らない人の車で連れて行かれるということもありません。
Then, the cab driver took me to downtown Long Beach.
そして、バングラデシュ人の運転手が、ダウンタウン・ロングビーチへと連れて行ってくれました。
Then, I met up with a friend who I haven't seen for few years. He invited me for BBQ seafood lunch.
そして、数年間会っていなかった友人と再会。シーフードバーベキューをご馳走になりました。
As I entered my friend's apartment, I was surprised that each door has braille - something I woune NEVER expect to happen with apartments in Japan!
友人のアパートに入って驚いたのは、いたるところに点字がある！
各部屋の扉にも、数字の下に点字が会うってあると言う事実。
こういう意味では、日本よりアメリカのほうが、視覚障害者に配慮されているな、と思いました。
Well, do I forget anything? Ah! Clicker!
So I went to a pet shop and grabbed the all clickers they had!
他にやり残したことはないかな そうだ、クリッカー！
訓練終了日に、ダニエルが見せてくれた、舌打ちクリック音の代わりとなる、エコーロケーションの秘密兵器！
ペットショップに行って、在庫があった分、全て買ってきましたよ！
The ones I got are called click-r.
私が購入したのは、その名も「click-r」
